$10 buys a new pair of school shoes for a barefoot child in Haiti! A message from the team captain (Samantha Clark): How often do you think about your shoes? How often do you complain about having achy feet after a long day of working, walking or shopping? Imagine the pain if you didn’t have shoes. Sure, we all like going barefoot sometimes - around the house, in the car, at the beach - but the difference is that you and I have a choice. Every year Americans throw away more than 300 million pair of shoes. We live in a throw-away society that is based on consumption. The type of poverty in Haiti is almost unimaginable to the average person living in our country. Sadly, the most heartbreaking of its victims are the children. Many children in Haiti are unable to go to school because they do not have shoes, 65% do not finish elementary. They WANT to go to school – they LOVE IT! School is a place that they not only can learn but sing as well. Haitian children LOVE to sing, it’s a part of their life and culture. It lifts their spirits and brings joy to them in the midst of their struggles and heartaches. A Haitian Creole – “Lespwa fe viv” Hope inspires life. Please help bring HOPE to a child by providing them with a pair of shoes so that they too have the opportunity to go to school. Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page to help raise money for shoes for children in need in Haiti through Common Threadz, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to help orphans and vulnerable children in Haiti to reach their FULL potential. Only $10 provides a barefoot child with a new pair of shoes to wear to school! All gifts made on our behalf are 100% secure and tax-deductible. Let's help these kids! Each $10 donated buys a new pair for a child in need.
Total Raised So Far: $220.00
